CHRISTIANS NEED TO BE REVIVED! In fact, the best candidates for revival are those who don't think that they need it. But at this time in America and in all countries where Christ has been known, many have fainted spiritually. Others are back-slidden having fallen from grace and lost their first love. In the Book of Revelation, in the 2nd chapter you will find that the church of Ephesus had several good qualities. Probably a number of churches in America and many in Europe today, resemble the congregation of Ephesus as it then was. But if you read the Bible verses you will find that this church was threatened with the loss of its candlestick! So beloved, it is evident that even if your church is doing some good doesn't necessarily infer a good spiritual condition.

Another example of a congregation in trouble, also from Revelation, chapter two, was the church at Thyatira. This congregation was commended for works, charity, service, faith, patience and works is mentioned for a second time (verse 19) and yet they were under a severe rebuke.

These two Biblical examples (more could be given) should begin to cut through some of the complacency which has been so disastrous to Christianity in the Western world. The problem is that we really do not understand the holiness of God; we do not grasp what New Testament holiness is all about and so we have lowered the Biblical standard. However since neither God nor Jesus are going to change (Hebrews 13:8) this means that quite a few well-meaning Christians get themselves into trouble!

""Though I walk in the midst of trouble, Thou wilt revive me:Thou shalt stretch forth Thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies; and Thy right hand shall save me" (Psalm 138:7)
